Racing on the Flats

Hail Exiles!

The other day when I was in the Shimmering Flats a gnome challenged me to a race. He was obviously faster than my Riding Talbuk but his left engine stopped halfway, so I ended up as winner! That gnomish engineer didn't seem too happy... *grin*

The thought then occured to me to do a race with the Guild, to see who's the fastest Rider! This should be a horse race since many of us don't have the knowledge of the complicated gnomish machines. We will race each other in a number of laps across the Shimmering Flats, and the winner will receive a nice prize! Any member of the guild can add something to this prize, be it items, juicy elixirs or just pure gold. As long as it's useful! If we have enough donations we might even add a second and third prize!

Here are the rules of the race:
1. Shortcuts are strictly not allowed! You will stay -within- the racing track.
2. Riding crops or other speed-enhancing items are allowed. So if you don't have one, better get started by visiting some craftsmen! (I believe those who call themselves Leatherworkers can make them.)
3. Paladins have additional tools to increase their speed, and the speed of those around them. These sort of activities are strictly NOT allowed. Better get some pracitce, your horse won't race for you this time!

Disobeyal to these rules will result into being disqualified, and you'll add 10 gold to the prize money. So feel free to cheat! *smile*

I am planning this event on the second next Monday ((17th December)) from today, at 8 o'clock. And I hope you'll all be there and make this an exciting happening!

ps. Only Exiles will join to the race. So don't even think about taking your gnomish uncles from Gadgetzan!

[ooc] Anyone can use riding crops, and nearly all people have it. if a lot of people don't then we'll not use em. but pally aura only applies to pallies & group and thus will make it impossible for other people to win.


I want at least 15 people or the event is not going to happen. I just don't want to hear the 'exiles don't rp' thing ever again, in that case [/ooc]

Also:
Do we have to be on a mount the whole race? Mages could blink across the finish line
and can we make it so there are no speed boosts at all that includes carrot, riding crop and from Pally and Hunter talents
And no paying hordies to slow others down ie conc shot and frost traps
